The old kite comes out of the shed
It’s hidden in there for ages
Unloved
Unkempt
Devoid of flight
Like a book without turned pages

But watch it soar into the sky
The wind beneath its wing
The shouts
The laughter
The oohs and aahs!
The joy simplicity can bring!
